NEW PAINTING!!

I painted this for Subtext Gallery in San Diego, they are doing a Comicon themed show. The specific theme was "Meanwhile..." basically superhero's/villains in real life situations/bad day situations. I struggled with this, i thought i'd have no problem doing it but all the ideas i came up with i didn't think i could pull it off in my style. My original idea was doing Nightcrawler in a teller line at the bank, and he passed gas and it would be a little purple cloud by his bottom. But I thought everyone would be doing potty humor. So I ended up doing this piece...."Venom Bad day with Sprinkles"
Acylic on canvas
8x10
$200
Contact Subtext gallery if interested

It was modeled after the worst day I ever had, and at the end of said day baskin robbins was having free scoop day, a light at the end of the tunnel. So i got my favorite ice cream World class chocolate, and in one lick due to BR's lazy cone filling style it fell to the floor and some snooty hair dressers laughed at me. I almost cried, and BR wouldn't give me another scoop. The turds.

Piece #3 CTA train

Here it be, piece #3!!

"Sometimes you feel like a nut"
20"X4"X1.5"
Acrylic on plastic CTA train
SOLD
Some close up shots...I used a little bit of washed down gold paint to make the squirrels eyes have the reflectiveness of a cats in the dark. So if you see it in person and you walk past it just right it will glint at you.

This little guy on the end is my favorite. I was gonna have him eating a bloody blob, but when i got it to where it is now i liked how it looked like he was eating himself so I kept it and chuckled a bit.

August 9 – September 6, 2008
Reception: August 9, 6-11 pm
Lewy body dementia (LBD) is a progressive brain disease and the second leading cause of degenerative dementia in the elderly. Lewy bodies are abnormal proteins deposits that disrupt the brain's normal function. In the brain stem, the proteins deplete the neurotransmitter dopamine, causing Parkinsonian-like symptoms. In other parts of the brain including the cerebral cortex, acetylcholine is depleted, causing disruption of perception, thinking, and behavior.

LBD onset is typically between the ages of 50 and 85. The symptoms, medicine management, and duration of LBD vary greatly from person to person, but the average duration is 5 to 7 years. No definitive treatment or cure for Lewy body dementia has been discovered.
